I came into these deer antlers and wanted to use them in my decorating but definitely wanted to soften them up to give them a country look that was a little more soft and feminine. I also didn’t really want to spend any extra money since my craft room looks like it could be Hobby Lobby part II so I just dove in and started digging through my supplies. Whether you have real or faux antlers you can create a pretty but natural touch for your home decor with just a few additional items. You can use it as a decorative piece on the mantle, add a hanger to the back for the wall, and even use it as a coat hook.
Chic Floral Deer Antlers
Real or faux deer antlers
silk or paper flowers
hot glue gun/glue sticks
First, you need to get yourself some antlers, if you have a hunter in the family like me you probably have some already laying around. Otherwisee, you can grab a fake pair HERE. Sometimes the craft stores even carry paper mache ones. Wrap the center part of your antlers in twine to give some contrasting texture and provide a good surface for your paper or silk flowers to stick to. Secure down the ends with hot glue, using a craft stick to press the twine into the glue until it sets.
Next flip your antlers over, press flowers with a generous amount of hot glue on the backs firmly onto the twine. Keep adding until you are satisfied with your design.
Once you are happy with your floral arrangement allow the glue to set (harden). At this point, it can be set on a shelf or you can add a hanger to the back to make it a wall decoration.
